-Draw a figure using the paintbrush tool in Photoshop or scan a drawing

- scan various samples of fabric into Photoshop

- Scale the patterned samples to suit your figure and then adjust the colors & tones to suit your design.

-Select the rubber-stamp tool, then (keeping your finger on the the alt key on the keyboard) click on an area of the scanned sample, the cursor should change.

-The sample can now be cloned onto the drawing in a new layer . The fabric sample is your palette - use any of the brushes to paint on the sample.

-The opacity of the clone tool can be adjusted to get a softer tone on the drawing.

Note : The pattern on the fabric is cloned in the direction you move the paintbrush tool.
